Camp/Clinic Description

The BRONZE Level clinic is a 16 hour in-person workshop (two days each for eight (8) hours; Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 5pm daily, with a one hour lunch). 2019 this clinic will be available at every USA Boxing national tournament, and coming to LBCs beginning January 2020.

The USA Boxing Bronze Clinic is designed to introduce high-performance boxing concepts and practices to boxing coaches working with new, novice and/or club boxers. This is a 16-hour course (Saturday and Sunday 8am – 5pm with a one-hour lunch) with participants spending 85% of the time out of their seats and on the floor experiencing drills, exercises and role play games with their colleagues. Some topics will include:

  • Importance of a dynamic warm-up
  • Coordination drills
  • Introduction to the universal boxer
  • Teaching lessons using EDIP
  • Basic offenses and defenses
  • Three (3) stages of sparring
  • How to use coach mitts
  • How to work a corner 
  • Introduction to the American Development Model


Green Certification is a prerequisite for Bronze, and Bronze is a prerequisite for Silver. Here is a brief description of each level:

  • Green
    • Entry level coaches working with new boxers
    • Online certification and test
  • Bronze
    • Entry level to intermediate coaches
    • Coaching novice and club boxers
  • Silver
    • Intermediate to advanced coaches
    • Coaching developing athletes who are preparing for and competing at regional and national tournaments
  • Gold
    • Advanced and international competition coaches
    • Coaching high-performance athletes that are on the national team or eligible for national talent pool
