Camp/Clinic Description

The BRONZE Level clinic is a 16 hour in-person workshop (four days each for four hours; Tuesday to Friday, 7am to 11am daily). 2019 this clinic will be available at every USA Boxing national tournament, and coming to LBCs beginning January 2020. The lessons are heavily influenced by the same practices used by our high-performance teams, coaches and staff.  

Some of the topics are yet to be determined, but may include:  

  • Introduction to the American Development Model (ADM), Boxing Development Model (BDM), the history of Long-Term Athletic Development Model (LTAD) and why age/stage appropriate training is beneficial
  • Introduction to session planning 
  • Introduction to group training methods
  • Introduction to EDIP – explain, demonstrate, imitate, practice
  • Introduction to Universal Boxer, neutral stance and coordination drills
  • Transitioning from neutral stance to boxing stance
  • Example warm-up drills
  • Example partner drills
  • Example School of Combat and situational sparring
  • Introduce step progression for concussion safety, boxer longevity, and retention
  • How to use 3 styles of leadership for practice
  • Introduction to focus mitts
  • How to work a corner
  • Wrapping hands 
  • Q & A discussion
